Whats the learning curve like for modo nowadays? I used 401 briefly but never really delved into it much. Would it be much of a chore to switch from maya to modo?
Thanks man! :) I've changed the design of the pommel so that it is more angular (complete redesign) and I've shortened the grip. The new polyount of the weapon is 224 polys and 402 tris.
That probably means your UVs aren't scaled up large enough as a whole to trigger it to pack correctly. Take everything and scale it up by about 400% and see if that helps.

This is the best damn idea in this thread so far! Just go to some nerd store and buy a Warhammer 40k model kit and then model the parts in Maya/Max. Brilliant!
