Yeah I see what you're talking about Dething. I think my darks are too dark, so I went in and adjusted the levels a tad...Seems to work a little better now! Good call. I also made all of his horns (excluding his teeth) black with a really sharp spec, I'll post an update soon.
My friend and I have been talking about having a nice always-on-top image viewer. Our studio is OSX-only, so I really appreciate this! I'll let him know and check it out myself. We're currently setting up a studio-wide image reference library using Bridge, I'd be interested to see how it works with this.
Yeah, I'll definitely smooth out the lips. They need to be thicker for sure, and I'll try to get rid of the texture seam right there as well. Holy cow, that photo has a lot of lens distortion in it! EDIT: I see what you're talking about now - the eye socket itself, not the surrounding brow shape. Shoot, I didn't even see…
For those interested, the Xbox 360 does sport some early DX10 functionality including gpu tessellation that was used in Halo Wars with their vector field terrain. Here's a link to Colt McAnlis's GDC session (one of the my favs of that year) you can skip to "LOD Round3 - Hardware" section of the talk to get to it:…
Maybe not Open Source, but Byron mentioned in the BPT Thread that he was intending to release the tools freely for everyone, but got talked into making them Paid Only by some people. Exactly, BPT looked like it would be just that, but went the other direction and ended up not being updated any more for a loong time ... But…
I think the biggest win is all the free advertising. Not from pirating, but from the media coverage of it and what not. No one knew about this game before. And I dont agree that priating is good for advertising, and i hate when people use that as an excuse to pirate. But, look at all the people talking about it now. And…
actually, a good way to design armor is to mesh it with the organic material. make it seem like it's part of the body, but also make it look very foriegn, like something you wouldn't normally see on the body. armor doesn't always have to look like armor. but I guess I have too much of an eye for cyborgs, so I probably…
Those huion reviews are a bit iffy, some talk about bad driver support and abrasive pen nibs. I'll probably always come back to wacom, I still have my 4x5 intuos from like 14 years ago, still works great and has nibs. You pay more for wacom but you can't deny the quality.
I'm moving this week... but first thing I'll do once I get my shit settled is looking into making these. Some of these would probably be cheap, some of them might be more pricey. I would want to make sure we had something quality for you all too. keep twisting out new ideas and we'll talk about it. cheers,
I see waht Ben is talking about but I disagree. I mean we watched it didn't we? I'm very impressed with not only the work you displayed but the way you compiled your reel. Very well done, very efficient. If you can get a potential employer to actually watch the whole thing, I think they'll be very impressed!
