Darn, I remember learning my first XSI tutorials from there. "downloads temporarily disabled" , I'm guessing that they are getting hammered by people who wanted to make sure to get all tutorials before they disappear forever.
A minor tweak of the cracks since last. I've been busy with some research, so not much 3D-modelling has happened as of late. Only a small stylized hammer, that I will probably be done with this week - will update again.
It's fascinating how many people view 2d/3d and arts skills as one and the same. You don't think that someone's a blacksmith just 'cause he knows how to handle a hammer. Though to answer the OP: No, it's not a must.
Skirt brooch for an African tribal character I was doing. Done in Maya, rendered with Mental Ray PS. I can't seem to get the embed tags working, this one's from sketchfab and the hammer's from marmoset viewer.
I normally have a rum in hand at this time of the evening (about 9/10pm) which is when I wind down the day with a relaxing catch-up on Polycount. I've never posted when absolutely hammered though.
Helenek you are on fire :) really dig the animations and it would be cool to see some community animation gems. I have one crit though, that omni weapon looks like a plastic hammer filled with air. Give it some weight.
Mostly because maya has a lot of awesome tools and scripts that allow them to hammer out a lot of episodes quickly, I've seen 2d animations make in 3d programs that user bones and weighting as well, there's a lot of advantages too it.
Things are screaming forward with Old Town. I've begun packaging and testing the demo to great success. All the major bugs have been hammered out, and now it's all polish to the finish. With that in mind, here's some new screen shots.
Oh gawd yes Subtool Folders and 64bit. Man I've gotten so used to the Zbrush UI & hotkeys it's more like; Wouldn't it be sweet if Photoshop used zbrush's spacebar menu brush size slider, Screw constantly hammering ''.
The one above the shark I like the color and style of it but keep hammering away at the good old core stuff and check reference / realism to improve! :D for 2D always try to paint in color and use lighting, keep going ! :D
