That sager is pretty nice. DDR5 Vid Mem. Though, I'd hate to see battery life and heat on it. Do I also really need 1.5 gigs of memory? It does have a huge performance with 26th on the chart for speed for the gpu. Compared to the 540m on the other Sager I mentioned earlier which is 69th (out of 300). FWIW what Waz and I…
I've owned or do own a good majority of the M43 prime lenses, heres a quick recap: Samyang 7.5mm fisheye lens, haven't owned (but have owned 8mm 3.5 in Canon mount) very good lens, super wide fisheye effect isn't really general purpose though. Very small and inexpensive($200-ish?) Olympus 12mm 2.0 - Currently own, lovely…
I have spent over 2.5 years working in Unreal Engine to create 100 post process shaders. Each shader has a few images and a video showcase. You can find all of the shaders here! For those unaware of what post process shaders are; they are like materials applied to your screen using math to create new cool effects.…
I have been getting this same problem with 2.5 D when Im making tiling textures...I drag out some tools and it crashes with no warning...no idea why? but best thing you could do is just save like every small step of the way...I don't remember previous versions being this buggy with 2.5d, r5 I remember was way more stable
I will be going for an effect like this for the hands, except that smoke will be shadow, so dark, instead of light. This will give me a chance to do something better with the background, instead of having it pitch black. http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs26/i/2009/242/2/2/Smoke_Skull_by_MagooPV.jpg the highres images: a:…
Eric: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showpost.php?p=6400502&postcount=246 These are issues with every baking tool, not specific to maya. [edit] Not entirely true i guess. These issues exist in max, but you can fix them by manually adjusting the cage. The "cage/envelope" in maya only sets the ray distance, not direction. In…
If mental ray is going to be your rendering engine I'd recommend tutorials by Jeff Patton. http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/category/205/ http://jeffpatton.net/blog/ Also, when doing actual lighting/rendering don't fall into trap of randomly adjusting stuff hoping to get cool results - find references first, analyze…
You're in luck. Someone on Neogaf recreated the shader for you. Even including a playable demo. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=116699387&postcount=235 Also, here's a follow up post by M3d10n (who's a developer). "Correct. The levels already need an unique texture wrapped over all static geometry for lightmaps,…
hehe thanx this screenshots are from 4th level (225 k faces) of multi-res, i added some details on level 5 (1mln), but blender crushed ;/ but there is nothing to grumble- its free and sometimes i working on meshes more than 1,5mln and there is no problem- just bad luck. about the design- this is totally freestyle, i just…
Doing small models like this is loads of fun , yours are pretty good, but you could really get more detail in those textures. Here are some i did a few weeks ago for a contest on another forum: submarine, 128 polies, 128*128 skin with alpha: the foam around the boat is also incorporated in the skin but part of the alphamap…
