Finally got around to redoing the uvs and texture for the Fiat. Stuck to a 4-bit pallete this time. 188 tris including 1-quad shadow. Thanks Shep, the black blending came from my starting with a black and white and overlaying colors on top, doh. edit: I lied. I added another 4 tris for the exhaust pipe, bringing the total…
[ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvVt_QI-AXc"]modo 501 smoothing groups ideal for game modeling.mov - YouTube[/ame] Not sure if you have seen this but it might help. Normally I set smoothing to the entire mesh to 180 degrees and use the normal map to control the smoothing. If there is one or a few faces that need to…
Really? How about lightmass? Look at this image rendered in Redshift: GTX 470: 155 seconds GTX 670: 123 seconds GTX Titan: 77 seconds Also, modern render engines allow you to see progressive rendering result while you work on materials. Could anyone suggest how much time it would take to bake lightmass for such scene?
<edit> ok, found out that World Machine isn't that cheaper than Vue but it's still pretty cheap, right now it's on sale for $69, or $189 per seat if being used in production. World Machine is pretty decent and I know a few game studios use it in production, either just for procedural erosion or for generating huge…
Oops! sorry that last link was a private share on Google+... so I guess I can't really share the exact info here. The gist of it was that in 2012 apps were selling more than games on the Mac App Store because a game placing around the top 45 of paid games would place around the bottom 180 of all paid apps.

A good sized chunk of the songs in the game are relatively new, and…

[ QUOTE ] Hey Rick, does Rockstar still sell any of the full music collections from the GTA series? (I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the VC one, and the SA one wouldn't be too bad to get ahold of). [/ QUOTE ] Probably - amazon! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006SM6Q/103-9386887-7391052?v=glance&n=5174
Try Edit Polygons>Normals>Set To Face. Then Edit Polygons>Normals>Soften/Harden and select the faces you want to be soft, type in 180 and hit apply. Then select the edges you want to be hard and type in 0 and hit apply. If you ever have any questions feel free to AIM me. I'd be more than happy to troubleshoot anything.
