So I did a barrel, but it didnt end up how I wanted. bah! I think im gonna do another one, I think the model is the problem, it seemed turned and bent? twisted? in some areas, which of course put the UV off. Thx for the reply i managed to make it work :P according to your example but its seems it work different than normal opacity maps like it collides with other textures that share the same color as the mask or i'm doing/understanding something wrong. I think you may be doing the workflow a little backwards...Why not have the hair texture set as hair strips? That way you can increase your resolution for each hair card. I will often printscreen a render in progress from the frame buffer and just start experimenting in PS whilst the render is still ongoing. This will be a noisy/grainy image but it doesn't matter as it's just for testing purposes. Call it impatience....:) but it's great to be able to get ahead of yourself and try out… -
