Haven't tested Blender 2.8 but will try it out once the stable version is released later this month. I use Maya and Blender 2.79 at work, but mostly Blender due to personal preferences. Andrea's comments above are spot on. One thing I'd like to add is that you don't necessarily need to "migrate" to another software. You…
Rayman is great fun, I only played the demo but I do plan to pick it up at some point. I totally regretted trading mine in and picked up another one about two weeks later lol. Absolutely loving it now. Currently enjoying Disgaea 3, which I didn't play first time round but am a huge fan of the first one. I'm not sure the…
Outside of Autodesk's track record, the team behind this were very excited showing off Stingray originally then development slowed, likely due to Adks's cuts and management. The nail in the coffin for me was when Unity announced that Adsk gave them source code access to FBX for transfer of StingrayPBS materials. It was…
what im trying to do is bake movement for some physical attachments to weapons ive made for a game. the animations are pre-made using a gun mesh physiqued to dummies. The idea is that i would render the physical interaction for the attachments on the gun (like straps, clips etc) based on the animations i made previously,…
YES you didn't give up on this one and I managed to stumble into it again, awesome! That feels A LOT better. Everything clicks together a lot better with it's pulled in tighter. I like the changes to the floor and the base of the tables, the lights, all great additions, nice work. Things to think about adding: Scales to…
I moved all the way from Florida to Dallas, I'm 37 and married. I don't think I'll be moving for a job again unless my wife is all for it and she can transfer as well. She has a nice government job so right now Dallas is great for her and I both. We recently bought a house now and are starting to put our roots down for a…
Its all the scale of your project / ambition. If its needs lots of animation you should either use the biped/ learn scripting or give up ;) You don't need 3 skeletons depending on what you need you might not need fk or ik. You can load the fbx on a dummy skeleton and then use this skeleton to drive your control rig. Check…
gauss Thanks for your point. I think you right with some things. But some times not possible to transfer all things from concept to 3d. For example ammo drum. That happened because artwork based not on 3d. This is collage from different photos. I know it because autor give me all references for this concept art. I just try…
Thanks alex for the tips man :) I definatly do the "listen to a song that has the same kinda tone" and see if I can match it, I also do that for drums as well... its just right now I'm training my ear to hear those little nuances, and now its just trying to transfer that into my own recordings... I still need to really…
Like CB says it's a tangent space issue between the renderer and the bake. Theres nothing wrong with the distortions in your bake the bake is just trying to counter compensate the smoothing on the lowres mesh against the highres mesh. You would need to apply a tangentbase corrected shader like the 3point one to get rid of…
