er looking better, i think you could afford some more interest in the underlying rock, look at real rock formations to add striations and ledges. also i find the style of the supports also i find the style of the crstals and the supports at odds with one another. make the crystal more realistic (again use some ref) or…
Yep, doc rob, I loved that character. I think he put it in Q3... I think I'm gonna do the same for my current university project... they like stylised and original stuff here, so I think I'll print out the UV-maps and do a kind of impasto acrylic painting over it, see how it turns out...
If you are hand painting your textures (dont want to use photos) just grab a reference pic of what you want it to look like, then just paint away. Hand painting is alot of fun and I would recommend trying it. Just try making a table or a rock or a tree. Even pick a style you like be it more subtle or stylised like…
The head is pretty small man, shes roughly 10 heads tall, which makes for some pretty radical stylisation. Still she looks awesome. Pior: Dude I thought that kind of stuff only happened to small dodgy places that I worked, you sound like your speaking from experience!!!! do tell even in a PM would be spiffing!
Thank you zac, have you tried it with mudbox or zbrush? While I was watching a youtube review also stumbled upon a bosto tablet. Only reason I was looking at it verse the Yiynova is the yiynova doesn't have a digitizer so the pen has to have a battery and would prefer to use my current styalize for ergonomics.…
You need to work on your anatomy since you have to know the rules before breaking them. A lot of your muscle structure doesn't make sense. Think about the major planes in a face I will add a image I have found particularly helpful. Notice how the stylised faces are still based on the rules of reality. Keep practising tho :)
Hey she's looking good, the face is the only other thing that seems to be lettering her down. The combination of the receding hairline and excessively big/wide eyes is very off putting. The jawline needs abit of attention, I know this is stylised but compare it to some real ref and you'll see what I mean. Fix all the crits…
Maybe hes just getting ready for his next Bodybuilding competition? Hoho.. Great work man, the modeling is top notch. I would say it comes a bit close to being TOO stylised in my opinion. He must be on a hardcore diet and work out 6 days a week in between bashing peoples heads in. Other than that, great work. -Buddikaman
A stylised character like this is a tricky thing to do. You're definitely on the way there, but I think you need to take a good look at your references as you've got some pretty major discrepancies. Most notable is probably the creases that run down from the eyes that aren't present on the real actor. You're also in need…
Add3r : You're dead on, mate. I' m redoing the table textures, as they're a bit too stylised for the scene. I'd like it to be a bit more realistic. I'll have a couple more weapons with the new textures in about a day or so for you to check out. Hopefully, they'll look better. WOrking on a texture breakdown too. Thanks for…
