3dtotal is an old site but they have tons of "the making of" tutorials where authors share their process. but I will tell you it's very trial and error. Holy Guacamole! Had an uphill battle with this today, from program issues to hiccups in various maps (some of which still clearly need fixing lol) but Im calling today a victory! Got her into substance, put a basic material on, and got some nice working renders. Stay tuned for more! -

Jeez, gir. Go easy on a guy. The Victory is an enormous ship. David: one good piece of advice, is you should closely follow reference for something like this. and use better lighting when displaying the final result. you should use flat planes and an alpha channel for the ropes to cut down on the polycount. -

In my opinion, people participate for the sake of experience and impressions. It is much more valuable than someone's publicly supposedly competent winner announcement. You need to participate in such contests in order to become better than the one you were at the beginning of the path. And not for the sake of a victorious… -

Palin is doing as I expected. Ok but really not so good. She got some good coaching beaten into her before the debate Im sure. Biden is doing a much better job, but unless Palin really shoots herself in the foot, it'll look like a victory for her cause there was no big screwup that we're all hoping for.. -
