It's a known limitation with shaders, but if you're lerping as I think you are, then you could in theory use the CMY color set from your vertex color to 'marry' the parts that are clamping away from each other. For me, the best tv scifi shows have been Babylon 5, Farscape, Firefly & Stargate Universe. The common link between then was that you did not know for sure that a character would make it, all of them had problems, they were essentially just flawed people like ourselves. You don't hide everything, otherwise you get the eyelashes and brows showing through everything. If you hide everything during the eyelashes pass then they will always be visible, even when the character is looking away from the camera (they would be visible through the back of the head for example). there's about 50 reasons you'll fall through the floor - the stupid ones are mostly engine version specific (eg. world partition landscapes on 5.3) and in terms of the mesh : Unreal has limited precision on vertex positions (16bit iirc) which means there is a minimum possible distance between verts if you have two vertices…
