I ran into this issue on a lighting only project I did a while back, a decrepit building with very little pockets for light to come through. I pushed and pulled settings for a while and had to stop when I could no longer achieve the strength that I needed. However, for me, that was step one. Your directional usually can't…
Hey guys! I'm building an environment based off a scene from one of my favorite books, First King of Shannara by Terry Brooks. Basically, the characters are searching for a powerful relic called the Black Elfstone in an ancient fortress called the Chew Magna, hidden in a mountainous region. (Currently I am focusing on the…
Back, crunching out a bunch of models for a Gamebanana Skin Contest, this time all themed around Finland's Winter War against the Soviets. Got a long way to go... Suomi KP-31 Soviet M91/30 Mosin-Nagant I spent wayyyy too much time on the mosin-nagant (dat receiver and bolt), and I still have more to do. I still have to…
Alrighty, that's all the outfits finished for now. Originally, the lead developer was pretty against having "bright" colors as the theme of the game is to be grim, but all the reference of clothing from the period (11th century europe) that I could find was pretty colorful. I decided then to stay pretty true to the ref I…
Hey Valkarai, your point on the thighs is really helpful, because all the gear around it will only add to the beefy-ness. So I will make sure to make his thighs somewhat smaller. About the calves and feet, they are indeed the weakest and most rushed bits of the sculpt. I will see what I can improve there together with the…
Honestly, your texture is killing the piece. your normal detail looks fine, but you've got way too much heavyhanded dirt that just makes your texture job look rushed. Your paintjob you've chosen with the blue and yellow stripe is interesting, and I think it would fit the piece well, but the dirt really isn't helping your…
Many of the gems gets pushed from the first page. It is sad. The poster image is a part of the race track from his game, if you grew up playing these sort of games. These ships were funky and the colors would hurt your eyes. Not a style that I would personally pick but it was a style for a whole decade.
I still haven't recorded a video, I'm adding finishing touches to the scene before the final render and have started working on prop showcase scenes, but in a nutshell it's like this: on separate layers, I paint a branch and all the leaves with masking tools - completely manually, by hand. Then I use those masks as anchors…
Yo thanks everyone, cheers! JO420: yeah, I made the small tunnel in the wall. But it's pretty rushed since it's very small in the shots. I used a modular arch before the hole and that's pretty much all of it. Rasmus: That's the color grading, Maybe it'll look less contrasty when I push the fog back a bit. Axios: yeah…
