yeah freeeanch wtf!!??!!! whateeever, I'm a douche bag so I guess I shouldn't reply, not that I have anything constructive to say anyway, oh yeah except that old fat white guys like Wilford Brimley and Kenny Rodegers for the win b1ll!!!
scoob: tracing one, perhaps, but when was the last time you've traced anything on a tablet? the intuos 3 don't even have that laminate sheet that you lift to place a piece of art under. i can freehand circles just fine on my own, thankyewverymuch!
I didn't get to do much today so these are a few sketches I squeezed in throughout the day. This is all done freehand except for the top left which I posted about earlier today. Still have some more practice to do but it's been a useful exercise!
Whipped this up in Photoshop in a couple hours. Can't remember how many I've done before, but not much. I kind of like how it came out myself. What do you think? I drew the line art freehand with pencil and paper, scanned, then painted it in Photoshop. Some links to some tuts would be nice, if you had any.
I guess your stroke is curved? Change the stroke mode from Dots/Freehand to DragRect. Then you can just draw your alpha out on the mesh. If what you want to do is stroke in straight lines, use the shift key when drawing, this snaps the stroke by angle.
go ahead and put 2 dots down on a big page, and try join them up. repeat x100. ?????. Your draftsmanship level will dramatically improve. also freehand ellipses and dare you try, the perfect Circle are good practise/warm ups. keep studying hard!
It al depends on how tight you work. I mean the physics of the world does not change, specular reflections will still be added wether its a super tight illustration or a "freehand" painting. Help the people trying to help you. ;] Do you have an example of a certain style you are aiming for?
Thanks for the feedback people. I freehanded this piece nearly all the way, so I went out of control with the wrinkles and such on the legs, too much, thanks for pointing that out. I'm going to try to go from concept first from now on, but I've such dormant drawing-abilities. I never use them :/
