The difference is Nvidia Hobbles it on purpose. The ATI is just not optimized for those programs. Dude, I could totally tell going from an older Geforce card to a 240 and 540. My frames were lower, and the card heated up to 60 celsius just moving around simple scenes. I could crash the GPU if I ran Max full screen.. Go… -

Sorry for the huge post here, but I just wanted to share the Bioshock Benchmark utility. I ran it at max settings at 1080p. You can see the average frame rate sits between 35-55fps. @electricsauce Maya has a mirror geometry feature other than duplicate special, but duplicate special should no longer flip normals; I think it was fixed in Maya 2014 or 2013. Maya's modeling efficiency comes largely from it's patented marking menus. But strangely it seems most paid tutorials rarely use the marking menus.… -

I jumped ship as well. I was a long time 3ds Max user, but since going back to school I picked up the education creative collection from modo which is like $150. This includes Modo Mari and Hiero player. Upgrading to to commercial licences will be $545 for the software. This seems to be the best way to get away from… -

I think publishers are trying to make money from people that are willing to spend $54.99 on a recently released used game, where they currently receive nothing. There's probably a good middle ground between the current used sales model and everything moving to no resale at all. -
