You can export to HLSL 3, HLSL 5, CGFX 3, GLSL 1.2 and GLSL 4. But it really depends on where you are taking the shader if the format it outputs to will be useful. E.g. if you want to load it into a game engine, the hand exported shader may need to be edited to work in that engine.
Since this is my first time challenge here. I am making it sort of real like and not cell shaded, so I ll be using some texture overlays from CGTextures. Is that ok or i get banned or something? :)
Hey, sorry about the late reply @retropixel I just saw this message. Couple of different ways to tackle eyes, using an outer shell with an alpha map to reveal the inner mesh. Or having an outer shell over the eyeball mesh as well. Both can work well if the shader is setup correctly. I think they main issue i had with eyes…
I actually was really enjoying this, 1 I would create a website for it, 2 this forums more for game art, you would have Much better luck on conceptart.org, or cghub. I really do I like it though and hope you wont stop.
We will be building a universe, and you'll be able to help sculpt whatever planet you can dream of. Visiting worlds and finding new ways to fight against the nano-bot composite enemies is the core of the game, but there will be sub-games as well as part of the various missions. Unless you know HeroScript I'll be doing the…
It seems like more attention needs to be paid to material types and surfaces, especially metals. Anything that appears to be metallic has a flat, paper-like quality. Study metal surfaces in real life, see how light interacts with the surface (show that in your specular maps) and also give them more contrast and surface…
Thanks Synergy. Unfortunately, there was no secret, amazing technique.. As I was just nailing composition, I decided to use a modified photo from CGTextures, with normals generated in Crazybump. Sorry to disappoint!
I see your point! How much do the faces really matter? You spend most of the time looking at the back of the characters head. As for cut scenes, who cares? I skip that shit every chance I get. I want to play games not watch poorly made CGI movies. Spending more resources on character faces isn't going to make the game…
