agreed. Which is why you are maybe having to look at it an extreme angle to see the reflections. A flat normal map color is 128, 128, 255. Could you display your normal for us? -

Good start! c: I can instantly see that you lack contrast in normals. They're too soft, I would try to pump up the intensity on the normal node to 2.5 - 3. That + make the beveling way more sharp on the shapes. Are there going to be holes as in the reference also? -

Also uhm ... you might be disappointed when using MentalRay with a shader like 3Point: it comes out just flat grey. Use 3Point ViewThief or GrabViewport 2.5: you can "render" high res, shaders will look the same and you won't run out of memory. -

You know what else would be a sick. An easier way to do tile-ables. Let use all our brushes for 2.5 mode, and let us pop out back to regular 3D mode and then back to 2.5D. Oh man. IMAGINE. JUST FUCKING IMAGINE. -

It looks like he is slightly cross eyes at the moment. Usually eyes face about 2.5% outwards from center each. Right now they look like they're facing in a bit and especially from the 3/4 view it doesn't look right I don't think. -

2.5 should have the interface upgrades your looking for. In addition to a new file browser and redoing all the buttons and menu layouts, they are also planning to add better Python/UI integration so perhaps there will soon be drop-in scripts to customize the interface any way you want. -
