I like the mood you are getting on your scene!! As someone who live in a place where never snows, I really love how your scene reminds me a northern town with few houses and a lot of tranquility. Do you usually do a previous study of the vegetation related to the weather?
Hi Rodioka. Super nice Job. Can I suggest to add some dessert sand to the rock substance material? Also some dry mud, small vegetation and pebbles. I know that the look you are working isn't extreme detailed but I would like to know how this can go with that.
@Kuki - Thanks for the crit, should have said somewhere that this was just a quick foliage paint to test the grasses shader and how it looks in the environment. But you did give a few ideas on how I am going to do the final terrain painting, the protected vegetation could be a really nice touch of detail.
Just came across this. I'm digging the vibe. I've been looking to take this class and the Vegetation class with Jeremy. Just a note, i'm sure you've moved on from this. But if you ever go back to working on this, I'd vary the design of the leaves. Such a minor thing, but they're looking a little too even.
Been working on some more props. Like a Well and an Antenn. Changed some lightning and the trees. Added more grass and dirt. Think I will put some more vegetation and gravel into the scene. Still some more props to create, textures to change and then experiment with lightning. Thanks for the feedback. It's very appreciated.
Awwwwwwwwww!! That is damn touching. My kids had better like my old toys. Cause that's what they're getting!! I figure I'll be the best parent ever: "Mommm, can I please come up and eat my vegetables already??" "Not until you beat that damn level in that game!!"
ILM Challenge - THE RIDE - The Swamp Spider https://www.artstation.com/artwork/YgQXK The Swamp Spider: Troopers are hunting jedi on Dagobah Dagoba is a Swamp so dense that common ship of vehicules cannot land. A special transporter would be usefull to travel across the bayou where the path disappear hunder the vegetation…
Update for my bending material in UDK. It can bend in any vertical plane now. I'll try to animate grass/vegetation next. I hope I can get away with the static normals. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcZwzODKe_0"]UDK Bending material updated! - YouTube[/ame]
Movable skylight produces DFAO, Stationary doesn't. So by using a cubemap in PPV you can get rid of the DFAO artifacts when your skylight is Movable. Take a look at "Lighting and rendering" part of this article for AO stuff. https://80.lv/articles/rendering-scanned-vegetation-in-real-time/
Adam, if you're still in contact with the mod leader and he needs more art assets in the future, I still have the rights to about 85% of the models from my "Chernobyl Exclusion Zone" project that I'd be happy to donate: http://davelee3d.com/projecthighlight.html (excluding the vegetation which was done by another artist)
