mudbox is really nice for projection and switching to ps. not to mention its 10 bucks. i'm using mudbox, zbrush and photoshop for texturing. but recently i'm moving more towards premade stuff, really speeds up the process a lot.
I was wondering - if you do a low poly, do you bake down your procedural materials since Modo now supports PBR? or do you bake just normals, masks and then do the rest in PS/wherever?
Sorry to pull up an old thread, I just wanted to share the final model. The reference for the model was this guy from 3d.sk. The skelton was reference from Greys Anatomy, took a while to do that! (PS, not the damn tv series!)
started working on the textures a bit, going to go back and clean up the base texture and build up again. :) but not bad test! ps: you will see some flat normal stuff on here (dont worry, its not done)
Just an update, I think I have pushed it as far as I can with Poly paint. Time to jump into PS for some more detailing. Thanks again Heyguy, I think darkening the green really helped with the contrast.

Ok I got the first half on the first question. You basically just create a new layer with the texture applied as normal using PS layers and the Suite handles the organization, so all that's left if generating the gloss/rough
Trying to learn some digital painting. Starting off with a sort of silhouette, to get used to PS brushes and my tablet more. Just with what I've done so far, I've learned more from this that it might appear.
the red robot is mine made with blender and exported to Zbrush , the figure that shows the girl sure isn't , it's from appleseed . PS : what is special about the red robot , it's not that seriouse work , i can make even better than this .
I have no idea what the problem is, but i dont understand why you use an alpha for making shape in geometry then bake it for ps use why dont you just make a normal map from the alpha in photoshop?
