Thanks interrogator. The surface detail for the normals were created using Crazybump. I used a modified version of the diffuse to generate a large detail pass as well as a high-frequency detail pass. That way I could tweak their opacity independently when combining with the bake. Thanks DWalker for the useful feedback :) -

I like the decision you've made to go for a more dramatic blue lighting to the piece, I agree with DWalker about the white lighting a more yellow tinted lighting will do much better plus with the blue palette your using it may really make your scene pop and give it a great feel good luck! -

I like it very much, some nice Mek Tek! I have to disagree with DWalker about the metal patch on the pole and the checkerboard pattern. I think you matched the 40k Ork style very good with that. What could help the metal a bit maybe are color changes from the heat like some green and blue. -

Thanks for the tip, DWalker! Yeah, I actually haven't even touched the tail since making the original armature. I should probably get around to it. It will probably mostly be sculpted with a couple of alpha planes added on. I have a habit of ignoring extremities until pretty late in the sculpting process. The hands and… -

Actually..... I have heard people here use "bollox" :s I guess its taken from brits when they are playing world of warcraft. Bollox wanker Some people even use "fuck", this sounds incredibly stupid when they are talking swedish and suddenly say "fucking" in the middle of the sentence..
