nice! i like that you put a gradiant from dark to bright on the inner "columns". I wonder if it would visually work to have this gradiant globally on the whole asset?
Directional light + global illumination. If you have modo, just try it. I only have a gradient background + the standard directional light and GI on in my renders :P
Sorry for the double post. I tried to reproduce it, as already said on the thread, you just need a single light on the left. GI+AO Are you using Global Illumination?
Lightmass is still used to compute the Global illumination : http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-gdc-2013-unreal-engine-4 I can't give more details unfortunately. :\
it bevels it automatically, just divide it to see, the edges stay sharp because it is putting extra edges at the border areas. do a global smooth for a more pronounced bevel effect.
Have an XBox now for a couple of months and am thinking about getting Live. Is this a global network or can you only play against people in your own country?
What I think is quite strange as well is that there is no mention of lighting whatsoever, atm just shadows... what about realtime global illumination or hdrr or other fancy stuff?
