Holy delay batman. Sorry for the slow response to this thread. I ended up taking a few weeks of for the holidays then got slammed right as I got back. Below are the pictures for those curious. Tri count for the entire tree came to around 30k. Was a great project to learn a ton about pipeline. Here are some conclusions I…
I'm sorry, but your answer could not be correct as typed. Please try your point again. In a slightly more serious response, that word hasn't severed from its origin yet. You can hang on to it while the sociolinguistic reality catches up if you'd like, but on the whole it makes people think of real pimps as well as…
There's a considerable delay now before the images are loaded - I don't know if it's intentional, or an effect of the web host & large images. The 'thumbnails' on the main page are much too large. Their purpose is to give the viewer an idea of what you have and entice them to click for more. I'd advise using a standard,…
Apologies for the delayed response, All your feedback is all hugely helpful and I will be starting off the next few projects by doing studies of human anatomy and maybe try human, or human style characters to show I can do them. Thank you for the feedback on the skull, the kind words are really nice :) I really enjoyed…
I agree with you, 860 pixels is somewhat narrow for a 'large' image, and it's not a very useful width either. Especially since there's no real resolution that works on. You have 800x600 and then 1024x768, and 860 would imply a 900 pixel wide screen. The only example I can think of would be a 1600x900 screen turned…
Gah! Buildings are harder than I expected. Some very rough block-in going on. After skimming Wikipedia for a bit and looking at some reference of Chernobyl and artists' concepts of Ice Ages, both past and hypothetical future, I've decided that a nuclear winter is probably going to be the apocalypse that'd be most likely to…
It looks pretty nice, however there is definitely room for improvement. First of all the layout seems really dull, I mean it's essentially just a box with a smaller box inside of it. I think you should consider adding one or two unique siderooms (preferably asymmetrical ones on either side of the square) to break it up a…
Just to leave that one to rest (not going into the details about how it's done because that's besides the point and would lead to further splitting of hairs) : At the end of the day there's really no point lamenting about one app going the way of the dodo or not since us users can't control that. People just need to stop…
I think you'd benefit greatly from cutting the fat. Choose only your strongest stuff. I know it's hard because we grow attached to certain pieces or want to indicate we've done a certain style/technique, but it's not always portfolio quality. I fall into this trap a lot. I would axe the miscellaneous stuff completely. I…
You are over complicating the issue, and probably misunderstanding the bits of information you hear here and there. Sure, a design task can be helped by some 3d. Sure, many talented designers do that. To learn how to do it, they mostly figure out the 3d part on their own because the tools they need from a 3d package are…
