Sometimes I also use "custom project containing custom assets", and the best way I found is to have both the target and the custom one open at the same time, and use the migration tool to copy content from one project to another. But both projects needs to use the same version of unreal, or at least the target project… -

Extreme gradients don't matter, as long as the model is shading correctly in your target app. Are you going out to UDK, or Unity, or something else? Have you tested it there? The preview in Max is not an accurate portrayal of your end result, as the tangent basis is likely different. If it doesn't look good in your target… -

Those values are just on the 0 to 1 scale for their respective color spaces. Lets say you make an image that 50% grey in photoshop and import it, if you check linear in your target engine, it's going to have a value close to the value for ceramic, if you check the option for sRGB, it's going to have a value close to brick.… -

I felt that a lot of times it was hard to answer questions unless you are , using Maya, works with environment art, uses quixel, and has a lower skill level. maybe worth mentioning what your target audience is to the questionnaire somewhere in the post :) in… -

Exactly, mac's are targeted to people in the design and music business, not people who play games. Now laptops are an interesting thing in all this, since just about all laptops will be pre-assembled, with little to no interchangable parts, so everyone is essentially doing the same thing as mac, building computer setups.… -

Deco brush actually works pretty nicely in my case! Not ideal but a lot better than erasing and trying to do something with that.
