As Shrike mentioned, the wear on the wood seems weird, the normal map detail doesn't seem to match the woodgrain at all. First of all this looks like a fun original game, and I could totally see this on Steam/xBox marketplace and being successful. The only thing detracting from it so far are the textures. The grass looks like "grass texture #847" off cgtextures with little to no adjustments. I honestly think everything would look much better… -

woah woah woah, as Mike5424 said: go back a few subdivision levels. I would recommend you get into the mindset "Have I done ALL I can at this subdiv level??" Every level should use the full potential of every vertex, when you pretty much nailed everything on subdiv level 1 you can go up to the next one, and do all you can… -

Just terminate the corners on the top face near the corner so the top looks like a square with a bunch of edges coming out of the corners. Lots of small tris is bad. Yep blends are a pain because they don't show up only when rendered at least they did the last time I used them. I got around it by because I was using vertex paint and you can get that mask to display in the viewport (not the actual blended materials just the blend mask) then I would do quick renders with shadows turned… -

The pole would only really be an issue if the model is going to be sub divided in zbrush or something. If you think about it that part of the mouth shouldn't move too much, and when it does the muscles will bunch a bit there.
