Hey guys! Finished my Bulma project! :) In the end I rendered it out in arnold, maya and made the hair with xgen. Hope you like it. Feedback is very welcome. Link to artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/4bDZw8
Hi Torch.Xgen looks great. Unfortunately I don't have access to Maya. I thought xgen was spline based but looks like you can generate hair cards pretty well. Ahhh back to work :)
Hi! I have been working on this for some time. I have learned new things about Marvelous Designer and Xgen along the way and I have continued to refine my workflow for this type of work. Hope you like it! :) Artstation Post: www.artstation.com/artwork/Jlwq60
Working on this face right now, my goal is to make a realistic face of a woman and render it in Arnold with xgen hair. Right now it is being shown in marmoset 3. But the textures should be translatable. I would like feedback if anyone is interested.
yes, i already know that. I just want to make sure. So for example, if somebody wants to make 3d characters, because of eventually rigging, and grooming in xgen i would definitely recommend maya over max.
I agree that's fucking useless. I've brought xgen groom meshes exported via alembic into designer with no issues so fundamentally it should work. How are you getting them out of maya? Do they have UVs?
this is my first post here , iam working on this model also am having some troubles rendering xgen hairs in arnold heres another render of what it looks with hairs . any help will be really appreciated . thanks .
Sculpt looks nice! For smoother transitions on the hair cards, you can try slightly rotating the plane the xgen fibers are coming out of. It makes the cards appear to have more depth and break up the transitional lines. Something like this:
I've yet to gain a job myself, but in the various interviews I've had, It's nice to be able to show that you can do "last-gen" (PS2/Xbox) work, in that you can show how well you can paint textures and understand lighting etc on a fundamental level. However, employers are looking for current-gen (PS3/360) art, so I would…
Thanks for replying. As far as I know, there’s no hair on the opposite side…? I could be wrong though. The low poly hair cap is certainly only one sided, but would that stop an interactive groom in XGen from generating them through/on the other side?
