Thanks for the update, nice work on the new foot. I can see how ai-gen tools can be attractive for the gee-whiz factor, how much it just goes ahead and fills in all the details automatically. But it’s unfortunately a very problematic process, encumbered by deep issues with morality. These models are trained on vast scraped…
This is great, love the lighting! The biggest problem for me is that the effects are overpowering everything else, so I can’t really focus on anything but the sparks. And the spinning camera makes it harder on top. I would suggest toning those both way down. The materials have a nice amount of grunge, but I can’t tell if…
Problem is I use shift middle mouse to constrain to an axis, then to reset the axis to x y z with no constraint in 2008 I could just hit w, in 2009 I have to hit q then hit w. Gayness.
Assuming this is the effect you want: Get>Propert>Color At Vertices Map Ctrl+W for paint options (color, opacity, etc) Shift+W to paint You might also be looking for something like this: http://community.softimage.com/tutorials/texture_painting_with_autodesk_softimage_part_2
the hotkey for hiding meshes is "w"--verrry easy to hit while navigating, since its only a matter of holding leftclickornot. You can turn the W hotkey off thought under the preferences >enable flight controls or something like that
There seems to be alot of improvements w/ the way Mudbox works w/ Photoshop. The problem is these improvements and the ability to mirror stencils feels more like a fix than an upgrade. Either way I look forward to getting my hands dirty.
great revisions made a ton of difference. impressed w the quality of your texture. great work. going to have to look over your texture flats for pointers w my own work ;)
Both Slideknit and UVWframe look very promising, gonna try those. @ SpeCter Never really understood what the W is good for. :) But select all and then setting W to zero should always do the trick.
Looking great so far. Though I'm thinking the legs should probably not be so well-defined and muscled, compared to the style of the concept. They look a bit more like older-guy runner's legs, lean and tightly-defined.
"It's better to dig in and learn the process yourself, hard-surface modeling is actually very achievable." SECONDED! @Collins you're only cheating yourself and the artists, specifically their work having been flogged off as your own.
