The save defaults in the options menu should save the defaults for each menu the way you want, but I just tested it out and my defaults are set how I like but they can't be changed, which is weird because my defaults are not standard, which means they carried…

But have you tried swap from Direct 3D to Open GL?I mean just to see so nothing has happen with direct 3d ?Also swap between DX8 and 9? This doesnt happen in any other applications?like games for an example? I also assume you have Servicepack 1 and 2 installed for 3ds max 9?…
