Thanks for your answers guys ! both looks very interesting, but - yebis need licensing, and the japan only store is not very mainstream enough for me. it's what they used in painter for post-process, so that looks definitly AAA. - reshade looks to be quite experimental at the moment…
Thanks guys for the quick feedback. Ace-Angel: is world based projection when you basically do box mapping on the fly in the shader? If that's the case that's not what I'm after. aivanov: yeah I've used that same technique many time before when dealing with cubemaps I had to crate from skydomes and vice-versa. I think for…
Hello fellow hat makers! It's been a while since I posted here, but I sure haven't stopped working on stuff. Most notably I'm happy to announce that I've finally finished my first set in collaboration with the really cool guy Sukotto :) I won't go over the details here again through as he already went ahead and posted it…

try selecting the star tool, and before dragging it on the canvas importing your mesh, then drag it out. that should set the mesh to a zbrush friendly scale, while retaining the scale you want outside of zbrush.....does that make sense? edit* found this:…
@Bart. i just use the ShinyDark shader i saw on the forums about a year ago. its in the pcWiki now. but ill link u the thread. and as far as render settings its just Mental Ray with Mitchell filter type. and 4min 16max pixels per sample to account for the small detail. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69829…
OKi doki, I've benched my own MSI 970 card a little bit, haven't had time to do any long-time testing. Here is how it looks (not my machine though) Here are my current system specs: MSI Z77A-GD65, Socket-1155 Intel® Core i7-3770K Processor Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 16GB CL9 MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V 4GB BF4: Everything…
@Trawler, Great progress! @Nika, The legs seem a bit too cylindical, I think it would do a lot if you spent some more time on them, because other than that it looks great. A single 2048x2048 texture would be much faster than 4 1024x1024, probably faster than 2 (less memory but more processing required). Of course there are…
@ R0gu3 I was thinking about that too, so I did a bit of research..apparently it heavily depends on the engne and the type of game, but the official CryEngine 3 documentation says about 9-16k triangles for a main character, while for example Drake from Uncharted uses 20-30k.. Would be interesting how those numbers change…
