The feet you've added are very bunched up in the middle of the craft, it looks as if it could quite easily fall on it's side. Also the triangular layout of the feet would look more practical if the centre foot was a more substantial than the other two. Think more snowmobile and less reliant robin :)
Jepp - "are rotated over 360 degrees" thats what i would had wanted to describe . I made the caveman from the practical guide - which worked quit well but now i think this "single zSphere setup" needs a higher mesh density in the root sphere to work.
is this just for practice? the motion is ok, but if you want to start getting more sophisticated you can throw in some asymmetry, and then push the overlapping action. 1 leg drives + torso twist 1 hand will grab the wall first 1 side of the chest come to rest first etc.
Actually, a 50% value in the blue channel indicates a surface 90° from flat. A black value in the blue channel would indicate a surface 180° from flat: a back-facing surface. But that doesn't really happen in a tangent-space map. In practice, blue values are always at 50% or higher.
Work hard. Make lots of art. Read up and practice with the latest software. Work on game Mods and/or indie game projects. UDK is a good place to start. Keep your *%(@*! portfolio up-to-date. Spend one weekend every month updating it with the work you did that month.
I have my mouse button to use the wheel, but I never liked it, except with silo. I guess I wouldn't mind Maya as well since the navigation is the same. I guess it's a matter of practice, I feel I don't have the same amount of precision with the pen.
LISTEN! An online college course won't teach you what you need to know in Art for games. This forum and many others will. In addition, read books, read tutorials, read wikis. Practice. Save your money to buy software and a better computer. Maybe some eye glasses.
i know a certain individual, and fellow polycounter in fact, that has a very practical way of dealing with annoying management and co-workers: a headbutt. "i quit, you fucking cunt". friday is your day my man. take a deep breath (friday is considered weekend in israel - and go for it!
THREAD RESSURRECTION!!!! Now that this is out on dvd, I watched it. Omfg wtf. Crazy crazy craziness. Wtf. Also, the practical effects were GREAT. I loved how they didn't abuse cg. Made the movie a lot stronger because of it. THe sci-fi channel could learn from it.
enough of them were from our material, I think it's always good practice to say exactly what you worked on and give credit to those that contributed. Not just "some was by" but "I did this _____, I did not do ______" has always been my understanding of what is ethical and polite.
