Ok nevermind I figured out what the issue was. For anyone else who might run into this, the plane mesh in Mudbox is not a power of 2 so when you render out to a power of two texture, there's a border. Really terrible oversight of Autodesk if you ask me. Anyway, created my own plane, used a sculpt map to get the terrain… -
