grungy/rusted edging is legit, pilang, 'cause old school tanks had gaps where shit could gather and decay in the seams of the armour. The texture's well made (not saying it couldnt use a tune up) but the model's letting it down. What did you use for modelling reference?
Heh.. Sorry for Thread Necro, but I was cleaning up my desktop when I found this imgage: Back when I was making this thing, I totally forgot I labelled almost each piece of the Armour with a MM1 / MM 2 Boss Add-On. ^_^
Nice proportions but he's too much Power Ranger for me, if he's an ice dude maybe you could make him to look like ice and then the armour could be metal to break the model up, either that or rocket boots/rocket backpack with the current design.
getting the figure done before i add armour and stuffs. thing is though, i can't get the hands right :S i can NEVER get hands right. does anyone have any good sites/tutorials on how to sculpt a good set of hands? any other crits on the body are appreciated as always.
Belt Buckle Thingy. Still have a long way to go when it comes to sculpting. Quick re-topo and unwrap, then into substance painter. Pretty much default 'bronze armour' smart material applied. Prop in Unity 5. Still have a long way to go, but thoroughly enjoying the process!
I'm not very confident with character art and poses but I decided on this pose and here is some progress on adding armour and testing out colours. Still a lot to go! once I've come to terms with the completion of the character I am looking forward to experiment with different settings and backgrounds! stay tuned :)
the belt comes right to the top of the abs in the little reference pic, yours only covers the bottom of the abs...its a personal choice but I think it would look more like the original with the full size belt/chest armour or maybe its his chest that needs to be wider and not so tall?
realy nice work, not sure about the blue paint placement on the circular base peice, doesnt seam to match the forms in quite the right way. also IMO the diagonal shapes that cross the panelling on the armour dont really work, one or other of the shapes would but both together looks odd.
Hey Guys, This character was inspired by the League of Legends champion Talon. I ran with the name and tried to echo elements of birds of prey into his leather armour. The colour palette came from the plumage of a red falcon. 5548 tri's 1024 diffuse/spec I'll most likely get some other poses done soon, as always crits and…
a bit of an update :) Started to block out lower body armour to get a sense of proportions and work on belly fat. I made an artistic decision towards face, as i dont like the concept one very much. I wont make it so wrinkled etc.
