Well now I'm gonna shock everyone here.... I don't drink beer xD (Yeah it's a shame) but my girlfriend do, so she'll drink for the both of us :p I should start on the 25th october, I just need the flat now u.u;;;;;
Ok, my model has a name now. I've decided to call her Kaie. It's a Celtic name and I think it's very suitable for a game character, because it means "combat". I've also released a SDK - you can get Kaie_SDK.zip here: http://members.lycos.co.uk/nucleartes/Kaiesdk.html Note that there are two versions of my model in the SDK:…
hmm good point Indeed, the Unreal engine when released will indeed be the most realistic engine available, Currently I still rather look @ valves source technology compared to ID's Doom 3 and Still doom 3 didnt have too much freedom to move around but then again ive never seen other games utilize the doom 3 engine, doom 3…
I would just transfer the files by hand Vassago. That's what I do and I don't have any errors with it. I only ahve a 256MB duo pro now. I'm going to wait till the 1GB gets near $100 or less I think. And my 3rd unit is in tip top shape
thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I guess I will try a high res model. I have to finish the dwarf-he's at 2500 and looking very good. I guess I'll bust some more butt and do a 5000 poly model, which will be nice. Is there a tuturial around on normal mapping? I need one as I don't fully understand it. thanks todman…
I tried it out tonight, playing Arkham Asylum and Mafia II. The lag was negligible to me for those kinds of games. They have Unreal3 but I didn't try that. So twitch shooters might have more issues. Graphically, they are rendering everything pretty much maxed out. You can see their servers struggle a bit sometimes, so it's…
Okay, next question, then... what kind of character models? We still don't know. I have a partially-made 2500-poly security guard for a mod that went nowhere, but it may not be what Brett needs. So what does he need? Armored space marines? Lizard men? Frankish warriors? Cartoon characters? Any of those? Doesn't matter?…
I have made a vehicle for a 3d cell phone game for a competition on gamedev.net. The vehicle had 67 polys and used a 64x64 texture. Besides that I had made some textures and graphics. All are in here: http://www.xs4all.nl/~tetsuo/images/DF_assets.jpg I was contacted a week or 2 ago for free-lance gig to make characters for…
First of all, thank you for your input. the polycount for the model is 1708 and has a 512x512 texture for the m4, plus 256x256 textures for the scope and the grenade launcher. The render was made with the default 3ds max renderer. I am quite new at making textures like these and the lighting was the hardest part on this…
