Hi all, please can anyone advice me how to transfer color of diffuse map to vertex colors? Tryed this: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70981&highlight=diffuse+vertex+color not working for me. Is there any script for this? I must use old tech... :) Thank you.
Yeah thats exactly how Battle.net 2.0 is going to be, starting with WoW and StarCraft II, then Diablo III and future Blizzard games. I also heard the older "legacy" Blizzard titles may also transfer to the new Battle.net later.
@Add3r Thank you! @Sharur Thx! Yeah, I had some difficulties with it. Did some material instances where I started to tweak the values a little. But I would have like it to transfer straight from substance painter.

also looks like there's little to no beveling on the highpoly which will give you almost no transfer of detail, and the uv map has more shells than required with quite a few jagged areas that would benefit from being straightened out
Wow 3dsmax 9. That's old. I would probably try newer versions of max with win10 and see if it fixes the issue. If it does, work in that and use a compatible format (probably .fbx, .3ds or .obj) to transfer it to Max9 and then export to your game.
Forgot to update this so here is the close to final product for my Beholder sculpt. I will admit the Maya transfer has lighting that is off, but I think it gets the idea across, let me know what you guys think.
the skinWrap modifier in max 9 also kicks ass for transfering weights by vert position (not sure if this is similar to skinUtilities, don't have max in front of me at the moment). i've used it a few times at work with the default settings and it's worked perfectly.
Transferring all of my files to my external drive in preparation for the jump from Vista x86 to 7 x64! :) Nuking files sucks, but I needed to reformat anyway... In reference to the thread, there's no reason not to upgrade, besides needing money for the thing.
it kinda looks like you need to increase the "Search Envelope" in the Transfer Maps menu. Right now it's set to 0% and probably need to be increased higher. You can also change the "Display" to Cage to see the actual envelope cage
