Boanerges Studios - 2006 (I didn't make this up, seriously, I worked there) 8monkey Labs - 2009-2011-ish, depends how you look at it, staff was laid off after Darkest of Days shipped but some development has taken place since(toolbag). The "studio" aspect of 8ml was essentially shut down in 2009. -

Just as CKhol mentions the checkbox is available in the "Base Creator" when you first create your project. unfortunately there is no way to turn it on once a project has been created. The edit of the xml file might work, I have not tried it myself, and as Ckhol says I would absolutely make a backup of the project before… -

depends on how and where you are comfortable with. Personally I would use something like tiled to create the levels and initialize any level within 1 scene. Obviously for that one would have to parse the XML tiled or alike map editors create and instantiate sprites / tiles from a pool that is already in the unity scene… -

It does lag abit yeah. The biggest problems i have had so far has not been the lag but trying to play with friends. Inviteing/joining friends etc seems buggy. Personally i really like the AUG HBAR with grip and holographic sight. I also like the ACR with holo, going for FMJ with that one now. -

Is it possible enough people would do it to make a difference? Yeah. In reality though this rarely, if ever, happens. Without an organized effort or failing that at the very least, lots of publicity, this is at best wishful thinking. I actually have to agree with this. I use an xml-based system at work. And yeah, it doesn't have nearly the same amount of parameters as UDK/Unity's system, but it gets the job done quickly and efficiently if you don't need something too complex. yes. look at the Metal Gear Solid series. Awesome stories in MGS1 and MGS3 and the ingame cinematics do make it more enjoyable. with the ingame cinematics its like the game doesn't stop, while if you had a FMV it kind of feels like the game stops to show you something rather than it still being the game. -

yup, the fmv people always moan if you haven't got a high res version EQ, I do tend to have a large bleed around my textures anyway, cheers StJoris - I do find that resizing gives me a better quality normal map than rendering the actual size I need
