you must triangulate, set face normal, harden edge and then go find a mel script to add a little noise to randomly jitter the vertex componet and youre all set. Nice style though. I did some unity test :)
I've never even heard of Zorin, I'd really suggest Linux Mint if you're new coming from Windows. Ubuntu is fine but the official distro from canonical uses the Unity desktop environment which I absolutely hate with a passion.
I second Orca and the Artstation listings, and I've gotten offers by following and interacting with recruiters on LinkedIn before. Don't underestimate LinkedIn! A few others- * creativeheads.net * jobs.gamasutra.com * #gamejobs on Twitter (Don't underestimate this, either) * Polycount, Unity, and Unreal job forums
Wow got on the front page thanks everyone (especially the guys at the polycount for the front page)for the huuuuuuuge support I am getting the motivation is through the roof will get everything covered in unity next and again love all of you(no homo xd)
@JedTheKrampus: Thanks for the info! Yes I did find it nice and tidy to handle different animations from Blender to Unity at the time I tried. I will look more into it, and perhaps it will be a temporary solution until we feel comfortable to get Maya.
well am interested in seeing what you do with unity i dunno what to say yet... is a start... maybe some colour concepts... and greater than 30 minutes to 2 hours modelling be nice to see what you do.
EQ, could you elaborate on this a bit? We're thinking of getting a Unity Pro license (with deferred rendering). Is it best in that case to make an "uber shader", and just switch on the functions you need while filling the unneeded bits with dummy textures or values?
Hello everyone I am looking for modelers to begin work on Environment assets such as Buildings, Houses, roads, and various other assets. :D please let me know if you are interested. Also we are in need of Level Designers with Unity experience.
since this thread seems old...are there still so little resources/tutorials/etc... for FX artist? I'm going through Unitys videos about it but Id be curious to see other FX artist' techniques and how they optimize for mobile or various platforms.
Here's one I made using a standard transform node. It's capped at 2k but you should be able to adjust it for higher resolutions. If you plan on using it for Unity (or anything that uses the CPU rendering engine) you can't use 4k anyways.
