I started making something what will be very important- the forge. Idea is simple, a forge made by player, created using materials he gathered. An anvil (needs retexture): Blockout High poly of the fireplace
@dadochudy The only real way to know if it is too sharp is to do a test bake and view it in engine in the view the player will see. There is no universal size for edge widths, you need to figure that out on your own.
Amazing art style! Had similar idea about defense tower type game with two players, but never got around working on it. Love the execution of that idea so far. Want to see more!
there's never been any concrete number. it all depends on the platform, engine, complexity of shader, memory budget... just use what you need to preserve the silhouette at all angles view-able to the player.
Stick controls mean the developers were to scared to try something new, different or innovative. My goal for our ( future) products is to have stick controls as an option incase players want it, not the default input.
Im not totally sure myself but I think he means that the app could be like 2gb of textures and the app then streams textures from that huge file through the ram as the player moves through the game.
reminds me of http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/18/the-artist-is-present-is-a-game-about-waiting-in-line-at-a-museu Then again I love pippin barr just for messing with gameplay conventions and players' expectations
I was going to say "WOW-esque". This is actually a brilliant move by pixar, looks a bit more violent than most Disney movies but they're catering to an incredibly large and solid demographic, the MMO player.
Also, if this is going to be a first person perspective weapon, I would highly recommend adding some resolution to the knob just above the handle and, as that bit of particular detail is very near the player and is very visible.
Hey! Good Start, but i would make the parts which are nearer to the player more rounded. I mean the main scope and the handle lever. Next Gen offers you much more Polys ^^
