As an update , I have decided to keep the motherboard, cpu and memory and take it back home with me in my luggage. Then buy a 970 gtx graphics card, 512gb ssd,new case,etc when I arrive. Works out cheaper that way and probably wait until next year to upgrade the cpu/mb if I need too. But currently only my GTX 465 and 128gb… -

working on an environment mostly in max is not the expected workflow in a professional setting. Especially if you're using the Unreal Engine or Source. At the moment, yes. This is has two reasons, first, because Intel has a much better IPC (Instructions Per Cycle, or let's call it power per mhz). So one Intel core at 3 ghz is a lot faster than one AMD core at 3ghz (funny how things got turned around, back in the Pentium 4 days it was exactly the other way around and AMD… -

It is the wrong size + your component number is huge. http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/LandscapeCreating.html#Recommended%20Landscape%20Sizes Note correct resolutions there + expected number of components. Your size should have been 1009x1009 with 256 or 64 components, you instead have 1021x1021 with 4623 components (!!)…
