Just finished the game Dear Esther, its the purest and most honest art form I ever seen related to 3d gaming. without having mechanic and game design interference ... ( very bold decision tho)
A trained eyes to read shapes and planes. I'd give this very high priority because you'll need it to learn almost everything related to art. A certain characteristic that allows you to play with clays/models for days and days.
I'd love to write up a little bit of feedback ... but it's kinda impossible not knowing what the Playstation buttons icons are here for ! They seem to be related to the blue bar being circular - is this part of the UI behaving like a rythm game ?
Yea the assets look great, its full of quality! not sure if you are going commercial with the game or not.. but you haven't quoted or referenced the Machinen Krieger mech designs anywhere? is it related to that at all or? Either way solid work.
hey @Ohios_007 if you try exporting as a different configuration do you still get the same result? not sure what you are exporting out as but my first guess is it would be related to that and if the output for the normal was changed accidentally.
no, we are not related, i cant tell you much about the naming, however i dont think we chose a similar name to black mesa source by will :) thank you very much for the kind words! :D
have a look at this thread. Some of the solutions we talk about in it probably would address your issue too., if its related to UVs/having a texture applied on export. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115404
may be related to old max version. but yes this happens, undo is not perfect. especialy with applying certain modifiers, there is no way back. so save often :D some stuff undo does is not fixed as easily as broken normals.
Kunkka has A LOT of stuff though. It would be boring if people just made even more items for him. Medusa isn't really related to water or fishes, but she is slithery and all that stuff, so why not! haha
I did check out Abertay but the courses what they are offering are more into game development & games technology..I didn't find anything that was related to game art. So, am really not sure if that would be an option for me.
