I love the design. The only thing I would suggest is a pintle-mounted belfted MG next to one of the top hatches to deal with pesky infantry that get too close. Practically every AFV I've ever seen has a "piss off" gun.
Yes, planning is good. If you are doing a tutorial that is about creating an asset I'd suggest making the asset first as a practice run so you know what snags you'll hit while recording (so yeah, you'll make the same asset twice)
oh yeah man.. pretty much practice makes perfect... but my biggest influence of low poly characters is Tom Tallian. His work is amazing and a great place to learn to create good low poly meshes and textures.. check it out :) http://www.tomtallian.com/
Well, we redid our sheets for class and worked on the models if possible. Here are the first set. Still got lots of practice ahead in order to get better. I see that I'm improving just gotta keep at it as my mind hungers for more. :D
i've seen plenty of 3d artists kick ass without a tablet... like JFletcher who is on here.....he JUST now is getting a tablet. practice and you'll find you may actually like it... what's wrong with getting in touch with your artistic side?
I have an Alienware machine at work and it ships with these skins on it (older versions, but you get the idea) and they arent that bad in practice. I left them on for about a week, before stripping it all away. Im one of those "no theme, no desktop picture" kinda guys.
Finding faults doesn't make you cooler, guys (I wonder what 'faults' people would pick out in the original video). That was seriously awesome, but I'd like to see more practical applications and implications of it (re-rendering videotape isn't very useful).
A LOT of the edges have an extra loop near them so it'd smooth well :P That's because I originally didn't mean this to be a game model, was just doing it for modelling practice but I decided to stick it in TF2 anyways and I was too lazy to optimize
Also, dont try to get it perfect the first time. It seems like you have much practice in front of you (in 2D mostly. This problem really isnt about 3D or modeling at all). It will take time, so just get started now and stick to it!
okay, i just spent 10 or w/e minutes in adobe with the dodge and burn tool and im pretty happy with how the metal i did came out, so what do you guys think? @ no its not for any models, just practicing
