Latest updates from my scene. I really didn't have the chance to update the thread but I essentially dressed up the scene with a bunch of premade assets from the Megascans library and Epic's Open World Demo. I also scanned a few objects by myself to create a small library of assets.
The good thing about the film industry is that it's not as dependent on franchises as games are thanks to the director-brand model. So I can't really complain. Hollywood should stop with all those superhero flicks, though. And Saw. And Scary/Epic/Whatever Movie. And Fast and Furious. And Twilight. And for the love of god.…
I don't have a unreal licence so I can't tell you where all the files are in general but UnrealLightmass/Public/SceneExport.h is a c++ header file and so will be present in the code files provided by Epic. Check your account for access to the git repo and see if you can find this files there.
really? is that the new industry spirit? i've only ever seen the opposite where everyone and their dog gets shoved into the credits somehow to make the list longer... moar epic! just like company heads seemingly like to brag about rapid growth of their workforce and the enourmously large teams they have on a title.
Been having some trouble with.. everything. It's mostly about adjusting, but the parkour system feels floaty and inaccurate for some reason.. Might just be an issue on my end though. Performance wise it's been up and down, gameplay wise it's been tight. Yet to get into any epic games though :0
Damn you, Hellstern (not bad intentions, just saying because text always comes out wrong), you're not working on Allods anymore? : ( I miss your concept art gracing allods.mail.ru from time to time. :( Epic work here, you inspire. I love you so much for that.
Nice. I would adjust the levels on the normal map to give it a little more contrast, as well as some grunge, but I believe you already said that :) it's great that you've chosen to do a more 'mundane' model instead if a huge epic environment. I really need to crank out some of these as well!
Right now, with your scene block out, it's missing a focal point (well, I think my eye is landing on the tracks as they take up most of the screen real estate . With this scene being based around a mine entry, I think the doorway to your mine should be MUCH more epic.
I thought he had a point, Sinz. I mean, signing up just to write some epic rant is kinda' lame, but you were a jerk in that thread. Making a topic out here just to try to defame the guy is a good way to one-up him on the loser scale, at least.
i think its a shame that you decided t owall of the front wall like that. IMO that depth and "epic" feel of the concept is what makes it really cool. Try push yourself and get those assets in! you can probably get away with a more low poly backdrop kind of assets.
