This has kept the design flexible and easy to reconfigure until i finalize the shape, and start breaking it up into modular pieces. -

Looking good...when you are adding the "aging" look, make sure you array some mud and hardened dirt along the tracks and the fenders. Don't crazy over the cracks and bumps either...use a few industrial metal surfaces if you have to. -

Set an objects pivot point to match anything you want really, grids, verts, edges, other objects pivots etc. As for distribute and stack, not sure, but you are aren't counting array in max, some cloning and positioning functions you want aligning tools to be doing lives there in max. -

Well its been a bit. I think I have the modeling done, mostly. I need to figure out how to connect all of the arrays of wall sections. I am not even trying to model the landscape until I get this part textured. -

in this case I'd say they are using Array Mesh so that they don't have to worry about manually copying and spacing the different repeating portions out. They can sculpt on the few branches or boards that they do have, and the rest of the instances would automatically update across the pattern. -

Yes, this is true. I didn't respond with it this time around though as I don't have my usual array of numbers to back myself up with! Some games now ship as many as 10 million copies - it's an economy of scale. ..because they live in the recruitment forums! ;) -

Given that it's the back of an item that's probably a background prop it won't hugely matter but I'd say the vent fins on the back could use some work. Remove the faces at the ends of the fins so they don't turn into blobs and use a tool like Array to evenly space them. Looks good though! -

You want to sample a list of locations at equal distances along the spline into an array and use those to build a new spline. This is cos points cant be added part way along a spline - only at the end. Iirc you then delete the old spline points and add the new ones to the existing spline.
