Why couldn't you just have it charging it's own batteries as it's going along? Use some sort of dynamo typed setup. I suppose if that were a good idea someone smarter than me would have already had it and put it into practice.
The technique you tried is good, but you gotta practice it more. Especially the panel from Volume 2 is a good example. Other panels display higher levels of craftsmanship. But those zoomed-in faces with direced strong light, you gotta work on them.
Thank you all for the advice. I feel like I have a better understanding of good UV practice now, and I look forward to applying it in my current project. I will be sure to check out the wiki when I get to the UVs again.
Some painting practice I did last year and never posted. A blue rose and a portrait of my then girlfriend. The rose was done in Photoshop and the portrait was done in ArtRage 5. I suck and had to use the color picker to sample from the photo the portrait is based on.
also what about the skeleton created with humanik. Where the root joint is already skinned (smooth skin) but when you for example rotate it, instead of the hips moving the whole character rotates. Is it the best practice then to remove skinning on this root hip joint and assign it to the spine?
I've mentored several juniors and some intermediates and they all have like a warm-up period where they go through the Wiki, learn the editor/engine & workflow. After that they get assigned simpler tasks so they can take what they learned and put it into practice.
This is my second time around sculpting Thanos. Much better this time in my opinion. Need more practice sculpting characters though. I have been slacking for the last 2-3 weeks. Sleep taking over...must resist...need coffee.

not a problem. wish i had the ability to update the prop. tech issues have kinda... messed me up the past week or so :/ hopefully i'll get an update up, but i wont be able to finish by tomorrow. was fun to sculpt though. good practice ^_^
I'll finish the other two sets after the competition, before making full-body replacements, if any. I want to see if the stuff I make is/is not popular first and take some time to practice more, before committing to larger projects for the chiv store.
