Hi, a small Update. Armor and weapons haven't been sculpted yet only blocked out. Will do it later (am pretty busy at the moment). ... I only fooled around at the following picture ... Cya, Atilla
That is also possible with a render target, but unnecessary in the most of cases. Decal actors works well when you want to leave an impact decal from weapons. Thats how people normally do it in a shooter game.
Here is version 2, A little over 10,000 concepts now! Updated on the front page as well. Version 2. - A little over 10,000 concepts (Environments, Props, Weapons, Vehicles, and Mechs) Download Link (~3.3gb)
I took a little break from the character and did her weapon. I polypainted in Zbrush to get a good base. Colors are a bit off still, but I'll try and sort that in PS after baking. Cheerz
hmm... I guess the fighting style you would have using this weapon would be more akin to the falchion or saber... Maybe use the same mesh, but call it one of those? really like the helmet BTW
Can you cite an example of this? I know some of the character artists will do hard surface pieces for their characters in ZBrush but none of the environment/weapon/vehicle guys work in ZBrush (for detailing, yes, but not base modeling).
Thanks for all the feedback; it helped a lot. Here are the finished versions of the gun, including one without any rust: http://cargocollective.com/kristof/Weapons I might revisit the project in the future and put it into a game engine.
I got the Wildfire version from some Magazine CD. The freedom you got and the heap of weapons is quite fun. I did not bother about the story much but neverless spent several hours playing it.
I went about trying to change the pattern, but any of the others that I'd rendered only came closer to the Royal Paladin than this version did. Finalized weapon: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=691048181
This time around I will be making a normal map from this. The model isn't for a game or anything at this point. I'm just going off the concept but I agree it's a pretty un-busy weapon. Thank you for the input :)
