So, A new project. Decided to go with something fresh. My favourite kind of weapon is a claymore and the only hero in the game that uses a claymore is Sven. For that reason i present....the supersword! name is a work in progress... still a work on progress. Kinda disapointed I couldnt get the sculpted detail to show…
thank you AzzaMat for those links. will try it out later, .. i recently heard of an art test for this kind of environment. And one of the guidelines was to use a total resolution of only 1024x1024. Some of those assets have a 256x256 resolution (i.e. the ones in the image below) I thought this might be a good practice.…
If the publishers would get their shit together I'd be flying over to make a lego racing game. Seriously, that game was fantastic. Also, I take it you guys are trolling when you're saying $100k for a degree. I just finished and I think it ended up at $25k (at most).
Taking forever to make an indie game isn't an option. So far, I haven't been able to quit my day job, but if I keep to a solid 2~3 months turn around, then I can build up a decent catalog. The dark shadows is what it looks like when you have broken lighting. If you want hard dark shadows like that in the final build you need to change your light mass setting under world properties. Default light mass settings has 3 bounces. If you turn it off it will look like that... but it will not bounce through…
Update: Painted some wood today so exciting. The old moldy/mossy boards tile at 256x256. I also laid out the uvs for the other wood elements and started to texture the large beams. Thanks for looking. :)
Looks amazing, very nice honor to of the original. Only critique would be to maybe detail the stone a little more? You might be trying to be faithful to the original but they probably had 256 textures for those assets or less so they didn't really have that liberty. It's pretty subjective though, looks good as is.
