thats the mip mapping everyone is talking about, and what is being said is: 99% of the time you wont see the full 4k map because it gets mipped down automatically. so unless you require stupidly close up shots of things, authoring at 4k doesnt give you any benefit. -

Using the decimate tools inside blender or any app, should not be used for a final low poly mesh 99% of the time. When making the lowpoly mesh you don't have to stay with 90 degree edges bevel them if needed, then when you bake the normal map and texture it, the edges wont be that noticeable. :) -

I'm planning on getting it, since I make the "good student" pricing deal, which'll get me modo and the free upgrade for only 99 buckaroos.That, and I'm not sure if I want Lightwave 9 or not,I may just stick with 8 and use modo for modeling and LW if I need it for exporting to something. -

Made for artstation challenge concept artists version is in there also, i think did alright for such a concept. the knee joint needs to be worked out, it could also just pass for some sort of rubber, since it will 99% of the time move with all the arms. So... They want to compete with Sketchup now? I'd rather see them releasing a non commercial version of their DCC apps for very little cash. Like Houdini's Starving Artist edition. All the functionality of Houdini Master for 99$ with the only limitations being on rendering (no 3rd party support and limited mantra tokens)… -

How is it updated in any way except graphics *slightly*? Seems like 99% the same gta we all played on playstation 2. Some weird cutscene then drive somewhere and do a mission then repeat over and over but in a boat. Seems very very dull to me, something that would be cool if you're 16, no offense.
