cool man, thanks for the feedback! ill try and make it seem more metalic if I can. do you mean as in replacing those indents or putting stuff in them? I might adjust the yellow in the metal and see how that works. Thanks for the feedback!
The Art Institute recently laid off most of their experienced teachers and replaced them with adjunct faculty. When I went to AiFL that was the best thing about it, the majority of the teachers had 20-30 years experience in their field, mostly traditional animation & painting.
http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorials_3/U_Joint_tutorial/u_joint_01.asp You can replace the dummies with actual bones if you need to but the key is using the look at constraints. You can also play around with the settings for each bone in Hierarchy tab > IK
Clip Curve and Trim Curve are two options if you want them to be really straight. Trim will actually cut into and replace the topology of the model, while Clip will just push existing vertices in. Either one should be fine if you're still in a dynameshing stage.
This is where I am with the rebuild, I will replace this image as I progress. Comments are welcome (please note that this is far from finished, topology critiques are fine but pointing out tris or n-gons is pointless as all of the subdivisions are not yet in place). Thank You
Chivalry now has full support for code mods with the steam workshop! So yes Makkon, you can replace player models now too! We are also planning a map contest with cash rewards, so stay tuned for more info on that.
What application you making this for? Like movies or game.. Cues your low poly is not very low. There are some places you could optermise and replace detail with normal maps. The shoulders for example. Good job though looks great, love the style.
Ok, I fixed some mistakes I made: -rails and aimpoint are modeled (more) correctly -pistol grip and magazine were made a bit smaller -replaced stuff that was taken from other reference pics (other versions) thanx for your help
I think maya 2011 was the last version with FBIK and is now fully replaced by HIK. You can try to bake down your animation on the skeleton the select the hips right click on translate z and x in the Channel Box and press "mute selected".
Very nice, I'd consider replacing all the ugly black from the concept with white. It might just be placeholder, but it already looks better than the black. Reminds me of the excellent concepts from Hardware: Shipbreakers (I think there's supposed to be a Homeworld in there now)
