In most cases the person rigging wants the model handed to them in a symmetrical pose that is fairly close to the character's normal idle pose - usually this will be the A pose - and for the muscles to be modelled correctly for that pose. If you're doing something that requires a huge range of movement or you are doing…
Stinkhorse, did you get the latest release or a bmesh build? If you want to do some serious modeling might be worth getting a bmesh build, although I haven't tried so cant actually help. Also irc #blender on freenode is full of really helpful people!
lookin good man the updated version grants alot more range of movement and realism. o question after checking your mesh...is that nurbs? the leg armor floaters look like nurbs while the head and a few other parts look like subdiv. Just curious -Woog
decimation master is highly useful when you want to bring a really highpoly to a fairely lowpoly so you could retopolize (is that a word?) it. I see people tend to use topogun quiet a lot :) Im a noob so i cant help you further <_< good luck
Spore, Fez, things happen in 3's dammit I want another mind bending evolutionary game! Good point Notman, such a shame that the industry is caught in the pretty games sell the most cycle heh. Granted in my eyes it definately has a sweet art style going on
Rick Stirling: Thnx for comment. I overlayed diffuse map to normal but this is visible only in big zoom. Add a little noise to spec map is good idea. I'll try it. I dont want to rig him now. In fact i cant longer look on this character :D
yes its frustrating just like learning the other softwares was but unlike them i dont know where to look for the tuts, i cant seem to find one for absolute beginners in UE4, lets say i want to learn how to make environments, what are some good resources for that?
if you want to offset your normal map, you can use the detail map slot. The detail slot has its own offset and scale parameters. You just need to tick detail normals in the parameters checklist. specular cant be offset or scaled, its always the same as diffuse
Writing down all your expenses and then calculating your price is just a rough guide/estimate. Just because I eat less food or rent in my country is lower doesn't mean I have to charge less. I can still charge however much I want.
In that case why use zbrush or mudbox for props, is it for details you dont want to model in 3ds maxor is it to make textures. And it its for textures, cant you just do that in photoshop, here is where i am confused with the high poly and the best and effectie way to make a prop look fantastic
