@2d entrants Why not use this as an opportunity to do some simple 3d billboard type things? Just use alpha planes for various layers of the scene/stage and paint up some the bits of the scene to go on them? Could be a very unique look.
It needs proper light sources, which will help apply contrast to the scene. I quite like the look of the scene thus far though; it has a visual look which I've not seen achieved before. It's tempting me to experiment with UDK assets and IBR.
I think your scenes are pretty good, I feel like they lack complexity though. Maybe do a scene more populated by props and background story. Agree with MethodJ on not making a video, even if you do, don't put it on the home page.
This looks great. I love the unique style. I think the scene is a little washed out to me though. Could push your color contrast to really make your scene pop. I'd really like to see some texture sheets!
Okay, but like I said it is my first scene im about to make. So for the blockout, should I use 3ds max? and should I blockout the entire scene? and what after I finished the blockout? Sorry about all the questions :)
haha nice, yea the glass came out really well. Will you post the scene you are working on too? I think it would be really cool, I am picturing the crashed Xwing in the swamp scene from the movies but with a Tie fighter instead.
I think the lightning in that scene (which I just threw in so I could see) makes it look blacker than it is.. But I made it lighter is this what you meant? any better? First one is the one in the scene second is the lighter one.
I agree, the floor tiles seem large. It throws my sense of proportion off a bit. I also think the janitor's cart should be moved, as it's not really sitting well with the scene composition right now. The scene is looking really well done :)
Hi everyone. I Worked on my scene further and added more assets to fill the scene and make it feel more alive. I also added an eerie spirit trying their best to leave the shrine! I also decided to go full on winter with this.
Ok so finished off the scene. And I got to work on my next project. I want to do a stylized character and small scene. Heres a concept I made up. I'm gonna use a similar shader to this one I made.
