I seem to recall some recommendations from Epic about excluding grass from lightmass, or using different lighting settings for grass. Some stuff here https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/Rendering/LightingAndShadows/Lightmass/index.html#primitivecomponentsettings
Erik good post I agree. Great paintover too! lol yeah. I hope xnormal guy fixes that bug one day, it only happens with cavity maps. I almost never float shit anymore specifically because of that.
Hey bud :D ! Nice rocks alex :p Cool tutos, have the same workflow ( haha ), cool to have it here and explained very well :) I have some cool tips and trics too, will share it here and with you asap !
Thank's guys. Glad you like it. I know, the design not quite believable. While I was building him, I was thinking, blizzard art is always a bit crazy and unrealistic. It should look cool and epic, thats the only thing maters ;)
There are plenty of auto rigging solutions for maya/max. Epic have a rigging toolkit for maya that comes with an unreal engine4 sub. Automatic skinning tho... probably not, and tbh its better to do it yourself than to purely use something that auto skins
I guess I finished with the basic design. So his name is Moby the Whaleman. This is a epic unit, with characteristic 3/6 for 5 mana, he also has the ability to deal 1d damage and hook up the unit on the line of sight
@ AimBiz: Thank you, I intend to render him up someday, just not any day in the near future! xD Wurmlord: Wurnfiend: I am building a mythos for a hell epic. These are some from the Wurm coven, the lowest in the orders of hell ;)
I'd say it's pretty close to being release ready, considering Epic has been giving the SDK to some folks on the internet already, Hourences for example http://www.hourences.com/ http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/977368-Unreal-Engine-4-Video-Collection
Epic scene! Love the composition. In your lighting breakdown, you have that cool light amidst the warm lights. What type of light is that? (says U on it). do you always use point lights over spotlights, and emissive based lighting?
Keep trying. This happens to me every time. You just have to persevere. It's a pain but well worth it. UE4 is extremely artist-friendly and an excellent piece of software. Epic devs and community input pushes the engine forward at an astonishing rate of progress.
