Is there going to be added "obviously highlighted" paths/elements that players can somehow interact a la Mirror's Edge? Or are we straying away from that kind of platforming?
The hole in the back of the gun should 100% be modeled. The player will be looking at the back of the gun during gameplay. Also, the hole is too deep and large to be a normal map.
Neat design and great execution. It looks like it's probably a little too dense in detail for WoW, but I'm sure players would love something like this. :)
Very nice lines. You done a good job hiding the fact that this is CG. The less the player can tell they are surrounded by polygons, the better! Great work.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the main objective of itemtest is that it turns your obj files into mdls. Look in 'tf\models\player\items\demo' and it should be in there.
Nah, with a complex and detailed decal on the front, and given that (in an FPS anyway) it'd be something the player could run right up to, it's definitely worth spending a 1024x1024 on!
Use some common sense... the seams will be noticable close up, especially with normalmaps. The question is "how close will a player get?" Probably not close enough that it will matter.
