Thanks for actually taking my topic into consideration  . About you saying "selling some video games", thats actually a pretty good idea, I have a heap of spare games lying around, I should look into selling those. Secondly, could you elaborate on how you said "There are free or 5$ dollar ressources on gumroad far…
I liked the card game a lot, but it did seem a bit random. If there were more cards and some of the randomness was taken out (maybe select your 3 lead cards and have the rest randomized?) it could be a good mp or iphone game.
Not a game. Currently doing it in Blender and 3ds Max Vray to make some nice shots. I think that using composite mats is better at least customization wise. Easy to mix together add a mask overlay and more variety before fed into material slots. If you have 1 material then you cant color correct it after material node. And…
Since the only type of selection you can modify UVs with is UV selection, I would suggest hitting ctrl+f12 after you make a face selection to convert to UVs so you can move around etc. Isolating the faces is useful if you do some sort of other projection and have a bunch of stuff overlapping, you can easily see how your…
I was actually wondering about that. I wouldn't be surprised if some random artist at some random outsourcing studio in some random country took it off your site and used it. I looked pretty close at some of the texturing details on that gun, and they are questionably similar.
The most important thing to bear in mind that set dressing - and environment art in general for that matter - is always a series of logical decisions : "What am i placing, why am i placing it here, and what does it achieve". A good env artist decides on an internal logic for the scene, and runs through those considerations…
Great episode, getting rid of random Losties was great, now we don't have to wonder why there was random people in the background that we know nothing about. Should cut out filler episodes on random people. Smoke monster for the win in that one, soo cool.
NOTE: There's spoilers in my comments on Dear Esther below. Briscoe's environment work was stellar. There's no questioning that. My reference folder filled up nicely while playing through the game - thank you for that! I did, however, not get on with the experience itself to well. I'm hesitant to write that I wish Dear…
wow this thread is pretty awesome! interesting to read about the different lifestyles everyone here has. For me, I do my 8 hours a day at work and that's it. I haven't really done any personal work in almost 3 years or so, ill dabble to learn some technique or satisfy the urge to make a texture set but never really take it…
