Yeah its still not anywhere close 3dsmax's pivot system. Its something I really really miss when I jump over to Maya. HOWEVER the latest version of maya did upgrade the gizmo/pivot system, big congrats on that, but they need to keep going. It now can align to the average of the selection, or to a face. MoP broke down the…
The problem is you cant see the ray distance effect until after you render (unless I missed a checkbox to show?). Unlike a cage in max. Zbrush or at least zmapper also imports models in a default generic size, so you cant create a cage in max, and expect it to line up unless you scale it inside zbrush in which case you get…
maybe maya got the working pivot function too. its for 3d max on pic. adjust the pivot, then select "use working pivot", select the object/polys you want to move and select "working" for move tool.
That kind of works, but in Modo you can interactively change the pivot point, but with this tool I am stuck to having the pivot point on the edge. Is there a way to hack the pivot point to a different spot? Or a script to change the tool slightly.
The workflow with middle mouse + snap works here for me on Maya 2016 when i create a cube way off the screen (created at world origin - Interactive Creation turned off)) and then press and hold "V" and middle mouse snap over the vert. The problem you might getting is because Maya remembers last selected pivot axis so if…
I played Little Armored one for about 40 seconds, then closed the window. I like the music, but the... what, rolled up armadillo? is animated poorly/not really at all, I mean even for a ball, and is not interesting. What's the armadillo doing here. Why is it an armadillo and not an abstract ball or something to match the…
First , sorry for not updating this thread. I am really ashamed to be honest that I am not able to keep this thread alive over the whole time I am working on this project! But here is a big update/final update for you, because I`ve called this project finished. I also finished my bachelor degree with this project and I am…
Mojokey, I agree. I had the same reaction last night when I dropped it in, "humm too much". The ref I chose for the pilot house probably was fine before I FFD'ed it or was just a bad choice. I bounced between the 1920's rounded pilot house and the more modern angled version.…
I'm still very new to Maya but I'm having trouble getting local axes on bones/joints to export correcetly from Maya to an fbx file. The basic issue I'm having is that any time I change the local axis pivot orientation (using D and rotate) on a joint, Maya will put these values into a Custom Axis Orientation but not alter…
